Three Prong Table Forks from this date, by any silversmith, are extremely rare.  To find a set by this famous flatware maker, of Huguenot descent, engraved with the Royal Arms is particularly rare and very desirable.  The Forks are modelled in the Hanoverian patterm and each display three prongs with good tines.  Forks at this date were marked at the bottom of the stem, and then the stem was shaped, however the marks have remained legible.  The top of each stem is engraved with the Royal Arms as used by King George III, surrounded by the Motto of the Order of the Garter on a banner.  This is flanked by GR for George Rex and is surmounted by the Sovereign's Crown.  The Forks are in excellent condition, have a good colour and are of a very good gauge and weight.  Isaac Callard was of Huguenot descent and was considered an exceptional silversmith, producing flatware of the finest quality.  This would account for him suppling forks to the King.  He had workshops in Battersea Division near to Ye Black Raven, when these forks were made.  This is the first time we have offered Royal Three Prong Forks.
