This very unusual mug is of a smaller size and was almost certainly for the use of a Lady or child. This fine piece stands on a circular pedestal foot which is decorated with foliate spears. The main body is of campana form with a lower baluster section decorated with lobing. The upper section displays a beautiful raised band chased with foliate scrolls and flower heads, all on a matted ground. The scroll handle is decorated with leaf capping and the interior is finely gilded. The mug is in excellent condition and is of the finest quality. The decoration is in very crisp, original, condition.
