This very unusual piece stands on a circular pedestal foot decorated with bold applied beading. The baluster vase shaped main body has a gilded interior and the front is beautifully engraved with a set of contemporary script initials, surrounded by a circular foliate and flower head cartouche, all executed to the finest standard. This piece is an early example of this type of drinking goblet, examples of which do not appear on the market often. Morson and Stephenson are also very scarce makers of the finest quality.
