This piece represents an, early, unusual example of the work of Paul Storr.   This very fine quality piece stands on four cast scroll feet and the main body has a slightly baluster form and rises to a gadrooned rim.  The lower half is decorated with wide lobing.  This piece has two harp shaped fruitwood side handles, attached to the main body by plain tubular sockets.  The slightly domed "pull-off" cover terminates in a fruitwood and silver finial.  The front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Armorial and the reverse with a Crest.  The Arms are those of the Welsh family with the Ashton family in pretence.  This piece is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the base and on the cover.
