The Vinaigrette is modelled in an unusual shaped rectangular form. The cover is engraved with an outer border of feathery scrolls enclosing a panel of various horizontal bands of engine turning. The centre displays a vacant oval shaped cartouche. The base displays the same engraving as shown on the cover around a central flower head. The sides are decorated with engine turned trellis work and a protruding cast floral thumb piece. The interior displays exceptional gilding and a grille pierced and engraved with pluming scrolls and flowerheads. Both the cover and base are very well marked.
