A very rare & beautiful George III PARCEL GILT POCKET SNUFF BOX MADE IN LONDON CIRCA 1780 BY PETER CARTER.

This rare parcel gilt Snuff Box is modelled in a beautiful elliptical form. The cover is engraved with a sunburst design around an oval bright cartouche containing a contemporary Crest, above the script initials CC. The cartouche on the base contains a floral spray. The edge displays an engraved bead band and the sides are decorated with prick dot designs and bead bands. The box is well marked and displays very fine interior gilding. Peter Carter made beautiful bright cut engraved Snuff Boxes.
