This very fine Snuff Box has a slender oval form with plain sides and base and a stand away hinge. The cover is slightly domed and is beautifully engraved with a river scene detailing houses, each with a tower, either side of a river, with fishermen on the bank and swans gliding on the water. The sky, and grassy bank, are finely detailed and the scene is contained within an oval beaded frame, with outer border of beautiful flower heads and trailing foliate designs, all surrounded within a second beaded frame. The engraving has been executed to the finest standard. This piece is in excellent condition and displays a finely gilded interior.
