The Box has a broad rectangular form, with cut corners.  The cover is inset with an unusually shaded agate panel and the sides are decorated with zig zag pattern and chequered design.  The base is unusually engraved with scale work around an oval swirling scroll band around a contemporary French inscription.  The interior is finely gilded and the bezel displays a crisp set of hallmarks.  The work of William Boot is extremely rare, however his work is always of the finest quality in both design and production.  A very desirable box by a very desirable maker.
