A fine George III Helmet Cream Jug made in London in 1788 by William Sumner

The Cream Jug is modelled in the helmet form and stands on a circular pedestal foot decoarted with reeded, beaded and bright cut bands. The main body rises to a beaded rim and is engraved with bright cut herring bone bands. The front displays a shield shaped bright cut cartouche, with tied ribbons above, containing a contemporary script initial. The high loop handle is decorated with reeding and the main body displays a full set of hallmarks. This piece is in excellent, crisp, condition.

Length, spout to handle: 3.8 inches, 9.5 cm.
Diameter of the foot: 2.45 inches, 6.13 cm.
