These very fine Salt Cellars are modelled in the early Eighteenth century "Spool" form and stand on a stepped circular foot decorated with a band of fine linear decoration.  The plain, slightly baluster, main body rises to an everted rim also decorated with a band of liner design.  The interior of the bowl displays fine gilding and each is marked on the edge of the foot.  Each is of the fineast quality and are of a very good weight.  Burwash and Sibley were in partnership from 1805 to 1812 and had workshops at 14, Bartholomew Close when these Salt Cellars were made.  Their work is nearly always of a high standard of design and execution in a restained key of Regency taste.

Height: 1.9 inches, 4.75 cm.

Diameter at the rim: 3.6 inches, 9 cm.

Weight: 13oz, the pair.
