This early Sheffield design of caddy spoon is one which we had not encountered before and cannot find another illustrated in our library.  This piece has a scallop shell bowl and unusual flared, tapering, handle which displays a zig zag border. The centre is pierced and engraved with a stylised foliate design and displays the contemporary engraved initials J.W.  This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked.  Love and Company are very scarce silversmiths and this is the first time they have encountered their mark.

Length: 2.95 inches, 7.38 cm.

Width: 1.5 inches, 3.75 cm.
