The Salts are of a design which we had not previously seen and are circular in form with a slightly baluster body. The everted rim is decorated with gadrooning interspersed with Rococo shells flanked by acanthus foliage. Each stand on four most unusual hairy paw feet which are attached to the main body with shell mouldings surrounded by scrolls and acanthus foliage. The interiors are gilded and the front is engraved with a contemporary Crest.
