This very pretty, and unusual, basket stands on an oval pedestal foot decorated with reeding and engraved with prick dot and herring bone designs. The “Boat” shaped main body has a wavy reeded rim and is pierced with bands of wave design and unusual stylised flower heads in ovals. The sides are also engraved with bright cut designs and pretty floral sprays. The side also displays a vacant oval cartouche surrounded by a pierced linear and roundel frame. This piece has a reeded arched handle and blue glass liner. The basket is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot.
