To find a pair of Georgian Marrow Scoops is most unusual. These are of the finest quality and modelled in the fiddle pattern. They are in excellent condition and are engraved with an unusual Crest. Both are very well marked and also show a journeyman's mark. The Crest and Motto are those of the Yule family which appear to have been granted to Colonel Udny Yule. He was made a Companion of the Bath in 1821. Colonel Udny Yule (c.1765-1830) commanded a brigade at the Siege of Cornelis (1811), which gained the British control of Java. After he acted as Resident under Sir Stamford Raffles.
