A very fine and unusual George III Wine Label made in London in 1817 by William Bateman.

£675

The Label is modelled in a slightly curved, shaped rectangular, form which is beautifully pierced and engraved with foliate scrolls and flower heads.  The label is pierced for PORT and is in most excellent condition.  It is very well marked on the reverse.  Wine Labels by William Bateman I do not survive in large quantities and it is obvious that he was influenced by his grandmother's work in the production of this label.

Length: 2.45 inches, 6.13 cm.
