This beautiful Serving Slice has a slightly dished oval blade and is finely pierced and engraved with foliate scrolls, daisy heads, Rococo shells, crossed fishes and a tri-furcated device.  The Old English handle displays a beaded border and the top of the stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest.  This piece is in quite excellent condition and is very well marked at the botton of the stem.  Thomas Chawner was a very fine flatware maker and made beautiful serving items.
