The Basket stands on a stepped circular foot decorated with gadrooning.  The main body is modelled in an unusual "Bell" form and is decorated with a wide band of lobing on the lower section.  The sides rise to a reeded rim and gilded interior.  The handle is decoarted with reeding and the front is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surrounded by a cartouche of drapery mantling.  The basket is of the finest quality with a very good weight.  This piece is fully marked on the foot and with the sterling mark on the handle.  This is a design which was peculiar to Robert Sharp, however very few examples exist.
