A very fine pair of George IV Serving Tongs made in London in 1823 by William Knight.

These quality Tongs are modelled in the Fiddle and Thread pattern and display wide grips pierced with scrolls, stars and teardrop motifs, all surrounded by a linear engraved frame.  The arch of the arms is engraved with a contemporary Crest and the tongs are very well marked.  William Knight was an excellent maker of serving pieces, and slices, during the Georgian period.
