This pretty box is circular in form with silver sides and the base is inset with a tortoiseshell panel. The pull off cover has a silver rim and the tortoiseshell panel is beautifully inlaid with silver and mother of pearl pique work. The silver pique is also engraved with linear designs. This piece is in excellent condition and the inside of the cover also displays its original Georgian mirror, so the owner could place the patches in the right place. Although unmarked, the style is undoubtedly English and circa 1800 in date. A really wonderful piece.
