The Vinaigrtte is broad rectangular in form with engine turned sides and base. The cover is also engine turned engraved, around a vacant rectangular cartouche, and displays very unusual raised cast foliate scroll motifs. This was a rare design peculiar to the Bettridge workshops. as was the very fine "flush" hinge seen on the reverse. The interior is finely gilded and very well marked and displays a grille pierced and engraved with pluming scrolls around a central floral spray. A rare vinaigrette.
