The Spades are modelled in the Old English Thread Pattern, which is single struck. The triangular shaped blades are pierced with an unusual band of tear drop motifs and the handle has a pierced bi-furcated section where it meets the blade. The top of the stem is engraved with a contemporary Crest below the Coronet of a Viscount. These servers are in most excellent condition and are very well marked. As you will appreciate, these are of a most unusual design with a pierced blade and handle. To find one server is unusual, however to find a pair is exceptionally rare, which leads us to believe that they may well have been a special commission from the Viscount.
