The Inkwell is of rectangular form with a glass star cut base and reeded silver gilt mounts. The top and cover are beautifully engraved with pluming scrolls and Classical columns, in addition to floral motifs and shell details. The centre of the cover displays a vacant circular cartouche. This piece is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the side of the silver gilt mounts. The engraving has been executed to the finest standard.
