The Caddy Spoon has a beautiful bowl modelled as a heart, with an unusual wriggle work border. The handle has a bright cut edge and is engraved with foliate motifs and a set of contemporary script initials. The spoon is well marked and is in excellent condition. There are various heart designs, however this is one of the more unusual to be found, especially decorated in this manner. A similar form, of plain design, can be seen on plate 40, fig b, of Caddy Spoons - An illustrated Guide by Captain John Norie.
