An extremely rare George III Caddy Spoon made in Birmingham in 1804 by Samuel Pemberton

This design is considered to be one of the rarest of all the acorn designs. The spoon is modelled to simulate the shape and surface of an acorn, with an upper section of trellis work, and roundels, on a scratch engraved ground. This beautiful piece is inset with an oval filigree panel, a design which Pemberton specialised in. The spoon is in excellent condition and is fully marked on the loop handle. A near identical example, of the same date and by Pemberton, is illustrated in "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie, Plate 97, Fig a.
