This very rare piece stands on a pedestal foot decorated with lobing. The design of the main body draws its influence from Greek and Roman vases and is also decorated with lobing and an unusual upper band decorated with hooded palm leaves. The rim is decorated with gadrooning and the pull off cover terminates in an unusual cast foliate finial, with central flower bud. The interior displays exceptional original gilding and this piece has a clear glass liner. A very rare and beautiful piece.
