A very rare George III Vinaigrette made in London in 1807 by John Reilly.

£1,450

The Vinaigrette is broad rectangular in form.  The cover, base and sides are decorated with crisp engine turned designs within a plain frame.  The cover opens to reveal a finely gilded interior and a very unusual grille, pierced and engraved with a central Satyr's mask, within a laurel frame and flanked by crossed branches and florets.  The Vinaigrette is of the finest quality and is very well marked.  It is in quite excellent condition.  We have only encountered this design of grille with this box and it may have been a special order.

Length: 1.45 inches, 3.63 cm.

Width: 1.1 inches, 2.75 cm.
