The Urn has a square pedestal base which stands on four ball feet and which is decorated with a circular band of scroll work on a matted ground. The vase shaped main body also displays a wide frieze of scroll work and has two reeded side handles, attached to the main body with stylised shell mouldings. The high domed cover terminates in a stylised artichoke finial and the cast tap is decorated with leaf capping and shell designs, as well as displaying an ivory fan shaped opening mechanism. The urn is very well marked in the foot and on the cover. The quality of this piece is outstanding, as one would expect from this maker, and the design is most unusual. Denzilow had workshops at 3, Westmorland Buildings, Aldersgate Street, when this urn was made. He was certainly successful in business as his son was admitted to the prestigious St Pauls School in 1802.
