A very fine George III Saucepan made in London in 1792 by Henry Chawner

The main body is of a good size and has a bellied baluster form and rises to a slightly everted rim. This example has a cast sparrow beak pouring spout, with drop beneath. The silver section of the handle is decorated with reeding and is applied to the main body with an attractive heart shaped moulding. This example also possesses its original turned fruitwood handle. The base is very well marked and the front of the main body is engraved with an unusual Crest of a ship in full sail. The Crest is that as used by the Constable family of Framburgh and Everingham, County Yorkshire. The gauge and weight of this piece is exceptional and the interior displays the original hammer marks from when it was originally raised and fashioned. The saucepan is in excellent condition and has a good colour.
