The Sauceboats are of a good size and stand on a shaped, cast, square base, with gadrooned border.  The elongated main body has a slightly baluster form, with pronounced pouring spout and rim decorated with applied gadrooning.  The scroll handles are decorated with leaf capping and both are engraved on the side with the Crest as used by the Colt family, in heraldic terms "A Colt at speed".  The Sauceboats are in excellent condition and are both very well marked in the foot.  The Sauceboats are of a very good size and would hold a good quantity of sauce/gravy.  The work of Vere and Lutwyche is not seen often, as their partnership did not last for many years.  They had workshops at 48, Lombard Street, when these sauceboats were made.
