A fine George III Tea Caddy made in London in 1782 by Samuel Wheatley

The Tea Caddy has serpentine shaped sides. The cover and sides are beautifully engraved with bands of foliate scrolls and flower heads, executed to the highest standard. The front of the Caddy is engraved with an oval bright cut cartouche containing contemporary script initials, with tied ribbons above. The cover terminates with a pineapple finial and the caddy possesses its original steel key.
