The Box is finely modelled as a book with reeded spine and the cover and base are decorated with engine turned designs in two patterns.  The cover opens up to reveal a pretty grille pierced and engraved with pluming scrolls and flower heads, within a bright cut frame.  The interior is very well marked and finely gilded.
