The Vinaigrette is of an unusual circular form and is decorated on the cover and base with concentric engine turned designs around a central flower head. The sides are of plain design, with a protruding thumb piece. The cover opens to reveal a finely gilded interior and grille which, unusually, opens from the front and which is pierced with roundels. This example is of the finest quality and is an early example of a vinaigrette, as few survive from the 18th century.
