This unusual piece stands on a circular stepped pedestal foot decorated with reeding and prick dot bands. The vase shaped main body has a reeded rim and very unusual lobed decoration. The upper section displays an unusual band of bright cut and scratch engraved designs and the front is engraed with a pretty oval cartouche decorated with flower heads. The high domed pull off cover terminates in a ball finial and is decorated with an outer band of reeding and bright cutting. This piece is a rare item to come from the Bateman workshops and is of an unusual design. It is in quite excellent condition and is fully marked on the cover and in the base - a desirable piece.
