The Caster is modelled in the Hester Bateman, plain bead, tradition and stands on a spreading pedestal foot which is decorated with a beaded band. The foot rises to a baluster main body and displays a horizontal beaded girdle. The pull-off cover is pierced with unusual swirling foliate sprigs and linear bands. The cover terminates in a writhen finial and the front of the main body is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The Caster is in excellent condition and is fully marked in the foot and with the maker's mark on the sleeve of the cover.
