The Jug is of the Helmet form, with a beaded rim, and stands on a square pedestal foot. The high loop handle is decorated with reeding. The front of the Jug is engraved with a contemporary Armorial, with Coronet above, with a bright cut navette shaped surround. This piece also displays a Neo-Classical cartouche of crossed branches and foliate sprays. The Jug is in excelleny condition and is very well marked on the side of the main body. The Arms are those of the Boileau family of Tacolnestone Hall, County Norfolk and the Coronet above represents the French Baronies of Castelnau and St. Croix.
