The Basket stands on a domed foot with beaded edge, which is pierced with horizontal pails and roundels, as well as a band of blue bell motifs. The vase shaped main body has a beaded rim and is also pierced with the same bands of pails, roundels and bluebells as seen on the foot. The front displays a cartouche engraved with a set of contemporary script initials. The basket has a beaded handle and blue glass liner and is fully marked on the lower section of the main body. This size of basket are not seen often by Hester Bateman, especially standing on a pierced out foot. The piece is in excellent condition.
Height to the rim: 3.9 inches, 9.75 cm.
Height to the top of the handle: 5.7 inches, 14.25 cm.
Diameter at the rim: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm.
Weight: 3.5 oz.
