The Etui was made most probably in London circa 1780 and is of slightly tapering form and is inlaid on the front and reverse with beautiful foliate scroll work and a navette shaped Neo-Classical rayed medallion surrounded by unusual bead work. The side displays a plain silver band and the bottom and hinged cover are separated by a prick dot engraved silver band. Most unusually the silver pique work is interspersed with mother of pearl inlay. The interior displays its original bottle, with stopper.
