The Shell Snuff Box is one of the most beautifully shaded examples which we have offered over the years, displaying a variety of unusual colours. The shell is mounted in silver and displays a cast foliate band. The hinged cover is shaped and also displays another cast floral border and the centre is engraved with Wm Young surrounded by linear scroll work. This was almost certainly the original owner. The box is in excellent condition and is very well marked. Edward Edwards was a box maker of very fine quality.
