This very rare Shovel Caddy Spoon has a very unusual slender shovel bowl with pleated panels decorated with bright cut bands and a central finely detailed pineapple motif in the bowl. The handle is engraved with a vacant prick dot cartouche, foliate motifs and trellis work designs. The Spoon is modelled in a very attractive form and is in excellent condition. This example is fully marked under the hooded section of the bowl. This rare design is illustrated on Plate 52 of "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie.
