An exceptionally rare silver mounted agate scent flask almost certainly made in Scotland circa 1840.

This extremely rare piece has a silver wirework frame which is inset with eight different Scottish shaded agates.  The silver base is beautifully engraved with floral sprays and the neck with bright cut zig zag pattern.  The screw off stopper is decorated with reeding and is engraved with the contemporary script initials "H.E".  The top of the cover is inset with a beautiful moon stone.  This piece is in excellent condition and displays its original suspensory ring and chain.  This example has been made by a very skilled box maker and very few are known to exist.  This piece is in outstanding condition and has almost certainly not seen much use over the years.
