This very rare Naturalistic Nutmeg Grater has an unusual lobulated form and both the top of the cover, and the base, display fruiting trees with ripe apples and a pear. The front displays a thumb piece to fit the lobes. The main body opens to reveal the steel grater and this piece is fully marked on the bezel. The Nutmeg Grater is in excellent condition and it is the first time we have offered this naturalistic design. A near identical example, by the same makers and dated 1855, is shown in "Nutmeg Graters, Pomanders and Spice Boxes" by John Reckless, Figs 8-9, page 109.
