The Toast Rack displays a rectangular platform which stands on four beautifully detailed and unusual cast winged paw feet. This piece has six heart shaped divisions and an oval carrying handle decorated with scroll and leaf capped motifs. This example is of an exceptional gauge, comparable in quality to any made by the finest silversmiths in London at this date. The design and quality is quite reminiscent of the great Paul Storr. The underside is very well marked and is engraved with a contemporary swans head Crest collared with a Ducal Coronet.
