The Basket stands on a circular foot, which is decorated with beading and acanthus spears. The main body is vase shaped in form and is pierced with vertical pails and arch work. The lower section of the main body displays a band of acanthus leaves and the upper section with Neo-Classical laurel leaf garlands. The upper section also displays two bands of applied beading, as does the arched handle. The front displays a circular cartouche engraved with a contemporary Crest. This piece has a blue glass liner and is very well marked in the foot. Charles Aldridge and Henry Green were prolific makers, who specialised in pierced items.
Diameter at the rim: 3.5 inches, 8.75cm.
Height, to the top of the handle: 6 inches, 15cm.
