The Salver stands on three cast claw and ball feet and the raised rim is decorated with a very unusual wave beaded band. The centre of the Salver is engraved with a contemporary Armorial surround by a cartouche of tied floral garlands. The Salver is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse. This design is very seldom seen today, however it usually comes from the workshops of John Carter, a fine and desirable silversmith who specialised in the production of salvers and candlesticks.
