The Salt Cellars are cast and are of an unusually large size. Each stands on three cast claw and ball feet, which are attached to the main baluster shaped body with crisp, and very detailed, lion mask mouldings. The sides are also decorated with raised garlands of fruit, flower and leaves. The sides rise to an everted rim decorated with gadrooning, interspersed with raying Rococo shells. The interiors are finely gilded and the sides also display a contemporay Crest, below a Knight's helmet, flanked by engraved pluming scrolls. Each piece is well marked and is of an exceptional weight, the quality equal to that of the great Paul Storr. William Bennett specialised in the production of very fine Trays and Salvers during this period and these Salt Cellars display the quality of design and production which he was famous for. These are possibly the finest Salt Cellars, of this type, which we have offered over the years. They emphasise the height of Regency design.

Height: 2.9 inches, 7.25cm.
Diameter: 4 inches, 10cm.
