Sold

This is one of the rarest of all Georgian Caddy Spoon designs and displays a circular bowl decorated in the centre with a Chinaman figure, probably a tea picker, with pagoda to one side and tree to the other.  He also holds a cane over his shoulder with a box attached.  This very unusual scene is surrounded by an arrow head and stylised herring bone band, all on a linear ground.  The spoon is very well marked and in excellent condition.  This piece also displays a twisted loop handle.  An unmarked, identical, example can be seen in "Caddy Spoons" by Captain John Norie, Plate 61, figure c.  This is the first time we have offered this design of caddy spoon.

Length: 2.25 inches.

Diameter of the bowl: 1.45 inches.
