The Slice has a beautiful arched blade with feather edge border and wavy top edge. The blade is finely pierced with scroll work and unusual stylised flower heads. The cast handle has a feather edge border and is pierced with entwined scrolls at the top. It is attached to the blade with a cast raying shell moulding. The Slice is in quite excellent condition and is engraved on the reverse with a contemporary Crest and displays a clear full set of marks. Thomas Nash I was a specialist pierced worker who produced some of the finest serving slices during this early George III period. He had workshops located at 2, Water Lane, Fleet Street, when this piece was made.
