As you will see from the images, the blade has a triangular form with wavy edge at the handle end.  The outer border is engraved with feather edged decoration enclosing a wide pierced border of Greek Key designs.  This all surrounds a triangular frame enclosing a pierced and engraved stylised Classical vase containing exotic floral sprays, including tulips.  The piercing has all been executed to an exceptional standard.  The handle is cast in two sections and displays a tri-furcated moulding where it is attached to the blade.  The stem is decorated with ribbing and the end is also pierced with shell details and linear designs.  The Slice is in excellent condition and is very well marked on the reverse.  Thomas Daniels was a particularly fine pierced worker, with workshops at 10, Carey Lane when this piece was made. In 1781 he moved to Foster Lane and died at some point between 1795 and 1801.

Length: 11.45 inches, 28.63 cm.

Width, at the widest point on the blade: 4.45 inches, 11.13 cm.

Weight: 6oz.
