A very unusual pair of George III covered Tureens made in London in 1814 by William Bruce.

The Tureens are rectangular in form with slightly baluster bodies and an everted gadrooned rim. They both stand on four ball feet, which are attached to the main body with Rococo scroll mouldings. Each have two side carrying handles, attached to the main body with scroll mouldings. The high stepped pull-off covers, terminate in a foliate and reed handle and are cut for a ladle.
Both the covers and the main body are engraved twice with a contemporary Crest, with the Motto below. The Tureens are fully marked on the base and with the makers mark, date letter and sterling mark on the cover.
