This very rare piece is modelled in a very unusual oval form with corrugated sides. This piece has a plain harp shaped handle and "sparrow beak" pouring spout, which is very unusually engraved on both sides with a contemporary Crest. The interior is gilded and the base displays a set of crisp hallmarks. This piece is in excellent condition, is of a very good weight and gauge. Corrugated Teapots are very rare to come across, however this is the first time we have ever seen a corrugated cream pitcher. Charles Aldridge was a very fine silversmith, first in partnership with Henry Green in 1775 and then on his own from 1784 with workshops with workshops in Aldersgate Street, London.
